Yup… boring, boring, boring.

Beats the hell out of the way things were back in November – January.  Sort of.

I was telling my wife that it seems weird (and somewhat lonely) that for a few months it was Doctor’s offices three-four times a week, drama every other day, new info, contradictory information, more change, updates and problems.  Now it’s so freakin’ quite.  Almost like I have a life again.

And to be honest – a part of me misses the attention.  I know that sounds weird but it is unsettling to go from chaos to order in the span of a few weeks.  Don’t get me wrong – I’m VERY happy to be recovering with very, very little problems and I’m moving in the right direction.  Just a bit less, I don’t know … “exciting” than it was.  Humans are weird and I’m at the top end of the normal distribution I guesss.

Recent Dr. Appointment

Yesterday (March 18) I had my first Dr. appointment since getting all my tubes and hoses pulled out.  It’s now been 8 weeks since the surgery and things are going well.  I’m progressing really well (according to the MD) and all looks good.  The Doc said we still have to wait a few months before they’ll call it a “baseline” – meaning that basically whatever “control” I have then and how things are going at 6-9 months is pretty much what they think it will be like for the rest of my life.  I can tell you right now – I would like it to be better than it is right now – but I could still live the rest of my life like this (assuming that means another 30 years!)

I’ve scheduled a chest x-ray and cat scan for next month – something I’ll have to do every three months for the next couple of years – then to six months and then annually after that.  The Doc seems to think, based on the results of my pathology I’m in great shape and there should be no surprises when we get the scans.

I’ll let you know what the outcome is when that happens.

I’m planning some trips in April, May and June for work.  It will be a different traveling now but I have to get back out there and start making things happen – the rest of the world won’t wait for me.

Thank You

I want to thank all of you who subscribed to this little update site and who have touched based either via email, phone, Facebook or IM – I am truly humbled by your caring and concern.  It is nice to know that I’ve got such swell people in my sphere of friends and family.  And if I can return the favor simply let me know – I owe each of you a debt – and I like to pay my debts.

Have a great spring – have a wonderful Easter Season and remember – check yourself before you wreck yourself.  Go see your Doctor and make sure everything is working.  Your car isn’t the only thing that needs a check up.

I’ll update you on anything new as it happens.  Ciao!
