Doctor Doctor, Gimme The News…

I guess I’m just gonna have to get used to being in medical buildings for the foreseeable future.

This week was one Doctor’s office after another.  As you know, I got the surprise cystoscopy on Monday, then I had chemo on Tuesday, then my CAT scan on Wednesday.  Thursday was my day off!  No Doctor’s appointments.

Back in today, Friday December 14 to talk to the surgeon.

Remember, we last left my story I was having ridiculous pain when peeing and having to go about every ½ an hour or so.  The Docs wanted the new CAT scan to see if the cancer was growing and if we needed to go directly to surgery do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Well – good news – the Doc didn’t see anything that says the cancer has gone rogue and they recommend I stay on the chemo schedule and do the surgery in the future.  I was happy to hear that.

I won’t lie to you – I was a bit scared.  There were only three outcomes from today’s meeting…

  1. Cancer has run amok – get your paperwork in order
  2. Cancer is growing too fast for the chemo and you need to go get the surgery now and hope it hasn’t spread and do chemo later
  3. Everything is status quo.

Me like status quo.

So… we’re on schedule (fingers crossed I don’t drop too low on the platelets and white cells next week so I can keep going to chemo.)  I haven’t had much nausea or anything this week – just a little chemo brain (fuzziness, confusion.)

That’s about it – back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Oh… and in case you wondering how it feels when I pee… I leave you with this (click here to go to the site and see the video.)
